Case Study: Evans

Evans wanted a size 16/ 18 female mannequin which looked glamorous and sexy as a larger girl - just because your big doesn't mean you have to be frumpy and un-sexy. This was something that Rare Basic had to capture.

The faces of the mannequins were styled on that of a face that was being used at the time. The hair & make-up were created using both team's ideas and preferences. The main idea was to try and make these larger girls look as slim as possible, influenced by positions. The best positions were found to be those that had the mannequins arms by their sides, those with hands on hips accentuated the size of the hips therefore making the girls appear bigger. The design team at Rare Basic worked to the specifications of the Evans team to create an extremely successful collaboration which is still being used today.
