Case Study: INNOVATIVE MANNEQUINS INSPIRE MARIA GRACHVOGEL WINDOW DISPLAY
Store designer Virginia Orr was inspired by Rare Basic to create a stylish, eye-catching window display for leading designer Maria Grachvogel's flagship store on Sloane Street in London. Black, flocked velvet show the drama and contours of the clothing, while at the same time seeming to somehow vanish into the shop's luxurious decor.
Bodyforms were provided that would highlight the shape and material of the clothing, whilst not detracting from the clothes themselves. Gay Spanton, explains:
"Our brief was to provide bodyforms that would disappear into the dr of the shopfit, but at the same time show the fabrics and contours of the clothing to their best advantage on a luxurious backdrop."
The result were a stunning illusion that gives the impression of dresses suspended in mid air, as if they are floating works of art.
